Lighter Footprints: Boroondara’s Urban Forest, Tree Canopy and Biodiversity

August 21 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Boroondara’s Urban Forest, Tree Canopy and Biodiversity: Where are we now and what do we need to do?

Wednesday 21 August at 7.30pm

Many readers will be aware that Boroondara’s local tree laws have been revised and its Urban Tree Canopy and Biodiversity strategies are currently under review.

The Lighter Footprints event on 21 August will provide an opportunity for residents to hear from Melbourne University experts Dr Greg Moore and Dr Judy Bush on the importance of urban forests, what other jurisdictions are doing, and what needs to be done in cities to combat climate change and biodiversity loss. Chris Spencer, Boroondara’s leading arborist will provide the local perspective on the challenges we face, summarise the new laws and strategies, and answer questions.
